Bouzouki Lessons
I taught bouzouki for the first time in 1987 when
my teacher was on a working trip to England. I had already been
performing for two years and he saw it fit to leave his students in
my care. I have been
teaching bouzouki since then and in 1994 after learning how to play
the guitar and working as a guitar player for a brief period, I
started teaching rhythm guitar.
In the last few years, I have developed a unique
style of teaching the bouzouki, which combines the theory and
harmony of music and practical elements of bouzouki playing with the
skill of playing the rhythm guitar, in the teaching of the bouzouki.
I have also developed some
excellent finger strengthening and agility exercises which if done
methodically and consistently can ensure speed and accuracy after a
short time of taking lessons. Ear training exercises are
incorporated almost from the beginning to tune the ear with the
instrument. |
