English for Everyone
BMCC-Borough of Manhattan
Community College Student Resource Centre, New York City
My experience as an English
teacher started in the year 2000 teaching my peers at the university
where I was studying. I taught native English, college level
students remedial English and made sure they were ready to enter the
university classroom and lecture hall, understand what was being
taught, and produce university level academic work: we studied
reading comprehension and composition.
Wall Street Institute, Israel
I left New York in 2002 and on arriving in
Israel the most natural job for me to pursue was teaching English. I
was hired by Wall Street English Language Institute and after a two
week crash training course I began teaching adults. I worked at Wall
Street for one and a half years until Dana and I opened our own
Institute

ELC-English Language Centre
I was the educational and managing director at
ELC and it was an amazing experience which helped me develop both as
a teacher and as a manager. During the two and a half years that I
ran the school I took many workshops which helped me in all areas of
my professional development as a teacher, an educational director
and as managing director of the school.
Our students were of all ages, backgrounds and
levels: we had children as young as four years old and our oldest
student was 82; we had beginners who had had absolutely no
experience with English and we had business men who required course
in business and technical English and on etiquette: Doing business
in Europe and in the United States. |
